Who's the Nicest Guy in the NBA

Who's the Nicest Guy in the NBA? Don Rosen (a purveyor of lists for FoxSports.com) has created his list of the all-time NBA "nice guys". Would it surprise any of you Sixers fans to hear that Julius Erving was at the head of the list? Julius "Dr. J" Erving and Earl "The Perl" Monroe were the two nicest guys in the NBA according to Rosen. One player you may not have thought of was Darryl Dawkins (the original chocolate Thunder). Some may only remember Darryl as the guy who busted 2 backboards (Dawkins was the inspiration for the collapsible rim). But he's also known as one with an incredible sense of humor. Double D is now the head coach of the USBL Pennsylvania ValleyDawgs. Rosen defined "Nice Guy" as "a player who is grateful for the lifestyle that his talents have produced; who is mindful of the feelings and needs of others; who takes full responsibility for his actions, both positive and negative; who is confident without being arrogant; and who doesn't assume a phony persona when the media spotlight is focused on him."

Could Henderson be the missing link

Without fanfare, the Sixers signed 11 year veteran free agent Alan Henderson. I don't recall seeing the former Cav on the list of free agents to watch. But after you pass Ben Wallace the list wasn't that hot anyway. So little fanfare would be warranted by any free agent signing.

So do you think Billy has been reading the papers? Henderson sounds like the answer to the criticism about the Sixers poor interior defense, lack of veterans in the locker room like Aaron Mckie, and lack of character guys. The Sixers also signed rookie free agent Ivan McFarlin (played in France last year). More interior 'D'?

Okay, so now Billy can say he did something. Not exactly cleaning house, but I got no real problem with the signing. But I want to see how he's gonna sell it to the Philly faithful.

Yawn ...

Whoa, Nellie! Warriors rehire retread

This is why bad teams stay bad. Chris Mullin must have naked pictures of his boss. That's the only way I can figure he keeps his job. Don Nelson is one of the winningest coach in NBA history, but well past his time. Did you notice how Dallas made it to the finals once Nellie was gone. Remember he was the one who coveted Shawn Bradley. This appears to be a parlor trick by Mullin to take attention off of his poor performance.
