Okay, tell me you didn't see this coming. AI spoke openly about remaining a Sixer for the remainder of his career. A rarity in the NBA these days. Now the 76ers pony up a $76.7 Million contract extension. The way the salary escalates ($21M in 2008) he probably will be here for a while. My questions is this ... we have seen nothing but status quo moves from the organization since LB (you know that other coach) left. Can anyone tell me with any certainty that we will se that championship soon or will it be more of the same?

Training camp will be starting in October. Wow that came up faster than I expected. The lazy days of summer are almost gone. Time to play some hoops. We are minus one pre-season game this year, because the pre-season spurs game is being moved to Temple. Just as well. The preseason games don't have the same electricity as the others. Philly is still shocked & curious these days from two home Eagles loses and the Phillies are still in the playoff hunt.

We are conditioned for a let down. The Sixers season will probably start without much fan fare. Which is probably okay for new head coach Randy Ayers. I hope he's ready for the scutiny he will recieve this year. .... This town needs a winner!
